A book pack supported by BookTrust Represents - a new project to support authors and illustrators of colour to promote their work and reach more readers. This book pack is also directly inspired by Speaking Volume's groundbreaking 2019 publication, Breaking New Ground: Celebrating British Writers & Illustrators of Colour which showcases over one hundred UK artists writing and illustrating for children and young people. Letterbox Library has carefully curated a selection of some of the best works by these authors and illustrators, acknowledging the many voices already firmly established in our UK Children's Lit/ canon as well as introducing your pupils to exciting new and emerging voices. In order to keep the selected books relevant and relatable to your pupils, we will be constantly updating the pack content. Expect verse, novels, reluctant readers and picture books by authors such as Blackman, Lawrence, Johnson, Masters, Agard, Mian, Brahmachari, Gourlay, Ho-Yen and many, many more! BookTrust are also making sure that every school receives a copy of the Breaking New Ground publication.
