by Tommy Doyle
A child gets ready for the local pride celebrations with help from his two mums. A few rainbow face paints later and they’re off to join a line of people, of different ages and ethnicities, carrying the full range of Pride flags. Then on to the parade itself and, finally, a picnic in the park complete with pink lemonade and a rainbow-striped, fluffy-cream-topped cake.
Highly interactive. Simple speech bubble questions invite toddlers to spot details in the illustrations: “”How many dancers can you count?” ”Can you point to the stripy cake?” On each spread there are tabs to pull out, push up and whirl around. Singled out by our reviewers for being a useful addition to nursery settings in particular as an introduction to Pride and for making all families feel welcome. 'Love the characters, colours, vibrancy. Nice celebration of the festival' (Meryl, EY Consultant & Trainer, Letterbox Library reviewer). [Includes disability reps: shortened limb and hearing aid]. Age 0-3, Boardbook 8pp
