Anthropomorphic character, in dungarees, stands in a spotlight, arms stretched out, shouting.

by Rose Robbins

Abigail is having a bad day. An extra bad, bad day. She doesn’t want to write.  She would much rather scribble and fidget and fiddle. Teacher takes her to the calming down room… which Abigail just finds so-so. Next, she gets sent to a new music class. But she’s not sure it’s for her; she just can’t find an instrument to suit her. And so, instead, she screams. A lot. Music teacher Miss Butler, comes over. Abigail  expects another spell in the calming down room. But what’s this? Miss Butler suggests something quite unexpected.

An empowering and hopeful book in which a character with ADHD discovers ways to express themselves freely and in a way they find fulfilling. A wonderful book for a neurodivergent child but also for any child who might need to find more positive ways to express themselves. [Anthropomorphic characters: neurodivergent protagonist; Miss Butler is a wheelchair user]. Age 3-7, Hardback 29pp
