Saturdays mean a house full up with aunties and uncles and cousins. Saturday means Priya can spend special quality time with Mauntie (short for My Auntie) while all the older cousins play together. But, one Saturday, a new cousin, Aditi, arrives. A cousin just about the same age as Priya. A cousin who usually lives far away. A cousin who also plans to spend the day with Mauntie. And now, Mauntie is sharing spicy bonda snacks and fancy hairdos and Go Fish games and puzzling riddles with Aditi. And then, worst of all, Aditi suddenly announces she is moving back here. Priya is furious. But Mauntie knows just what to do…

A gentle story about jealousy overcome, shifting family dynamics & growth and love shared, with a far too rare centring of aunties (/uncles). Illustrations show a glorious ‘bustle’ of family with several pages showing literally framed family portraits which then spill over into soft shapes which imagine framings around intimate family moments . ‘Loved this story of extended families and experiences’ (Jayne, Primary Inclusion Manager, Letterbox Library Reviewer). [South Asian family]. Indian-American author and Bangladeshi-Canadian illustrator. Age 4-7, Paperback 36pp
