Brian, a.k.a. Josh’s brain, can be both a help and a hindrance. Brian gives him test answers, helps him make up names for the teachers and sparks him with superb ideas, including foolproof business start-up ideas. But lately -as the arguments at home have got worse- Brian hasn’t been so supportive. Instead, he keeps him awake at night and troubles him during the day, nudging him with worries and anxieties. Will time away at grandma’s make Brian double down or will it make him pipe down. ‘A very serious exploration of mental health/family dynamics- and at times very moving’ (Jayne, Primary Inclusion Mgr., Letterbox Library reviewer). ‘I love that it’s a normal family with all of its imperfections. Lovely relationship between boy and grandmother. It even includes some coping strategies’ (Kerry, Letterbox Library staff). [Single parent family].  Reading Age: 8+ Interest: 9+ Paperback 72pp
