Two children, siblings, arrive on a boat. People rush around them to help. They are taken to a shelter, a broken house, surrounded by a high barbed wire fence. The younger one barely remembers the time before. He grows. He goes out in to the world outside their home, making friends, playing games. The older one cannot forget. She hides away in the dark, wrapped in a blankie. Until, one day, her brother brings a butterfly in to their ‘home’…

The pictures and text layer up to evoke the loss, grief, sadness and, finally, healing felt by two young child refugees. Age 4-8, Paperback 24pp
